Rod thank you so much for putting this website together. It’s great! In the yearbook Geraldine (Jerry) Hilbert and I (Patricia Hester) are right next to each other and now 44 years later we are living in the same subdivision. We are in Queens Cove, Ft. Pierce, Fl. Small world. Some of us started out together at West Hollywood Elementary School, which is or was right across the street from McArthur. I was just talking with my granddaughter Maria who is in the 7th grade this year about my 7th grade experience at McArthur. I remember the fights! (Thank God my brothers where there too.) Then I went over to Driftwood and the portables but I really had fun there. I love my high school days at McArthur and the band rocked! I will pass the word to all the Class of 63 & 64 people I know about your website. Thanks again for all you work on the website. Pat Hester Giordano (64) and John Giordano (63) We have been married 42 years and counting! :) Admin reply: Thanks for visiting, Pat. Linda (non-MHS) and I are rookies, I guess, with just 38 years. I hope to see you next year at the reunion. Maybe sooner... Rod

What a great site. Thanks so much for your work here, Rod. We're in the process of moving closer to kids and grandkids. They're in Missouri and Tennessee. We'll be moving 2000 miles closer to McArthur HS and old friends. Bless you for your efforts and creating this site. Admin reply: Thanks, Bill. It's really nice to hear from you and I appreciate your kind words. I hope your moving east will enable you to come to a reunion or at least to Florida every now and again. Rod

It was good to look at this website. It brought back a lot of memories. What I remember most, however, is when I was a '64 senior and worked the switchboard in the main office for an hour each day (no one knows what these are anymore). I received a call about a bomb scare at school! What a thing to remember. Anyway, loved your website. Admin reply: Gosh, Grace, your name didn't ring a bell, but I looked at your picture and it seems familiar. What a memory that call must be. I vaguely remember one or two bomb scares when we were in school. Thanks for checking in. Rod

Loved your website and was glad to see by your photos that I'm not the only one who's put on a little weight since turning 60. You wrote on the website about the funeral of Steve Barkelew. I think it's almost uncanny that you mentioned it because Steve Barkelew was my cousin (my Dad's sister's son} who died of Cancer. He was in the class 5 years behind ours and we were all devastated by the news. I guess as the years go by we'll be seeing more and more of our friends as they pass. Thanks for the website. Great way to stay in touch! By the way, I went to the '65-69 reunion in Hollywood at the Hard Rock Hotel with my brother (class of '66) and we had a blast! Admin reply: Hi Patti, thanks for stopping by. I heard you were at the Hard Rock. I hope you ran into some other '64s. Rod

Class of '63, Another veteran of the portables '58-'59. Thank you for including Class of '63 on your GREAT site. I'll pass it around. Good job, love it. Admin reply: Thanks Mary Jane (that must have been a fun name in the '60s!). Glad you found the site. Wave sometime as you pass Ormond Beach on your travels between Blowing Rock and Vero Beach. Rod

The Class of 1963 was the last class of the portables. I started at McArthur in the 7th Grade and went through the 12th grade. Needless to say, I knew many people by name and most by sight. I now live in Tampa, FL Admin reply: Hi Wade, I guess by "last class of the portables" you mean all portables with no permanent structure in place. That would mean our 7th grade year ('58-'59) was the first year with buildings in place. Of course there were still some portables, as I recall. Thanks for joining us. Rod

Hey Rod, I went to McArthur in the 7th grade, Perry in the 8th,(McNicole?)in the 9th and back to McArthur in the 10th and 11th. Unfortunately I quit midway through the 11th and joined the Army. I doubt if anyone remembers me, but I still remember a few classmates like Jack Conway, Butch Ramputi and Leon Register. Sincerely, Bob Hodge P.S. I married a 66 McArthur grad, Sandra Shearouse. Admin reply: Hi, Bob. I remember your name. I heard from your b-i-l today, too. Welcome aboard. Rod

Hey guy, I believe my brothers graduated abit later. '68? You may remember Dave&Stu Berkowitz, the twins and their friends "the Eldorados"??? fraternity!!! ScottB I graduated in 1973. I am somewhat younger.... Admin reply: Sorry, Scott, '68 would have been too late for us '64s to have known them. Glad to meet another MHS grad, though. Thanks for stopping by. Ask the bros if they remember Gloria Lardieri, '68. Dated her a couple of times, and then heard from her again a few years ago. Rod

Great job Rod. It's always great to see the updates of those we grew up with in school. Hope you all will come to the class reunion next year! See you then if you do! Have a super great day! Admin reply: Thanks, Sandy. I hope we can get additional locals to join us for our monthly dinners. Those are so much fun and they wouldn't be the same without you. Rod
